Woven by hand, one shade at a time

Each shade is woven in Vietnam from split bamboo, worked over a form by hand. The open lattice is what makes the light behave the way it does. A solid shade would simply hide the bulb.

Before you order

Does it work with standard US bulbs?

Yes. The socket is a standard E26, the same one in almost every American lamp. No adapter, no special bulb.

Does it come with a bulb?

No, bulbs aren't included. It takes any standard E26 bulb; we recommend a 2700K warm white LED.

What bulb do you recommend?

A 2700K warm white bulb, 40 to 60W equivalent. Warmer than that and the bamboo goes orange; cooler and you lose the whole point of the weave. For a sharper pattern on the wall, choose a clear bulb rather than a frosted one.

How do I clean it?

A dry, soft brush or the low setting of a vacuum with a brush head. Don't use water on the weave.

Will mine look exactly like the photos?

Very close, but never identical, and that is the point. Each piece is woven by hand, so the curve of the shade and the rhythm of the weave come out slightly different every time. Bamboo is a plant, and its colour shifts a little from one harvest to the next, a touch lighter or a touch deeper; it also mellows gently over the years. Screens show colours differently, too.

What you receive is a piece of its own, not a copy of the one in the pictures. If it isn't what you hoped for, you have 90 days to send it back, and the return is on us.

What if it arrives damaged?

Contact us with a photo of the piece and its box and we'll put it right with a replacement or a refund.

What if it doesn't fit my space?

Return it within 90 days for a full refund. Check the size first: “smaller than I expected” is the most common regret with decor bought online.
